Safeguarding

The safety and wellbeing of every child is our highest priority and the foundation of everything we do.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. If you have an urgent concern about a child's immediate safety, always call 999.

Our commitment

Talia Children's Home is committed to providing a safe, secure and nurturing environment in which children are protected from harm. We follow statutory guidance and work in close partnership with local safeguarding partnerships, placing authorities and other agencies.

How we keep children safe

  • Robust safer-recruitment checks, including enhanced DBS, for all staff.
  • Regular safeguarding and child-protection training for the whole team.
  • Clear procedures for recognising, recording and reporting concerns.
  • A designated safeguarding lead available to staff and young people.
  • Child-centred practice that listens to and acts on every young person's voice.

Raising a concern

If you have a safeguarding concern about a child in our care, please contact our designated safeguarding lead as soon as possible. Concerns are always taken seriously and handled sensitively.
